Tammy Kelichner, CEO of New Dimensions Hair Extensions,

called Eurolocks. This method has been available in
the US for two years.

are no chemicals involved in the process. The hair comes
pre-bonded with a wax tip, is attached to the client's
hair with a copper shell and he shell is clamped onto
the natural hair to insure that there is no slippage
or breakage. The natural hair is almost inside of the
waxed hair extension strand, which is actually protects
it.
The amount of individual strands used for a hairstyle
depends on the style that the client is looking to achieve,
natural hair texture and volume; with requests ranging
from achieving a head of thicker, fuller hair to going
six shades lighter without the use of chemicals.
New Dimensions Hair Extensions offers complimentary
consultations. The prices for the actual service will
vary depending, again, upon the look the client is going
for and the level of difficulty based on their natural
hair. The hair generally runs $4, $5 and $6 per strand.
According to Tammy, the initial investment is around
$1200-$1500 ("investment" is the operative
word)- an average head of hair extensions includes roughly
250 extensions. The reason for such a high price is
the quality of the hair. New Dimensions uses only European
hair- this is due to the fact that European hair is
the only textured hair that keeps the cuticle intact,
which plays a key role in the durability of the hair.
The average "wear time" for the extensions
is four months (with no shedding) and the hair is REUSEABLE.
Because of this, one will need only to pay the labor
cost when going in for an adjustment.
